When CdnMarketSquare was first formed many years ago it came about as a way to keep Marilyn occupied as she had just been diagnosed with breast cancer. Sharon has the expertise to develop, manage, and host the site. Since the inception of this site Marilyn has dealt with breast cancer 4 times.

On Sept 14, 2007 she had a masectomy at Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto. Today, October 5, 2007, she is undergoing surgery to have lymph nodes removed as the cancer has been detected in this tissue. Please join with Marilyn's sisters, family members, and friends in wishing her a good recovery and praying for her.

Firday Update at 12:54 pm Pacific time Marilyn is awake from surgery and pain free.

Saturday Update at 5:00 pm Eastern time Marilyn is home and enjoying a beautiful Toronto day sitting on her porch and talking with neighbors. Amazing.

Wednesday Update at 3:00 pm Eastern time Marilyn is tired and at home. She is looking forward to having a family visit that has adopted her as their baby's grandmother. This visit has been well planned in advance.

Many well meaning people do not realize the drain their visits can have on anyone recovering from surgery. I suggest you check ahead to make sure the person recovering is not overtired. People dropping in with no warning can be draining. For those in recovery, you do not have to answer the door or phone every time. Let the phone go to vmail. Respond to messages when you feel rested enough to do this. Put a notepad outside your front door so people can leave you messages. You need your strength for yourself, don't give it away.

Saturday, Oct 13 07, Update at 6:30 pm Eastern time Marilyn is taking it easy and relaxing. She has her feet up, knitting hat and scarf sets for a charitable Christmas fund raiser at the National Women's Art Association and listening to her favourite radio shows.

Sunday, Oct 14 07, Update at 11:30 pm Eastern time She is feeling good. Tomorrow she will be going out to take her car to Canadian Tire to have the radiator checked. Her vehicle is leaking fluid. Brave woman - taking care of herself so wonderfully.

Sunday, Nov 10 07 3/5 of the lymph nodes removed have cancer cells. She will be undergoing further treatment. At the moment her neice, Lara, from Victoria, BC, is in Toronto with her helping her.
